The Fine Print: We have found the RSSI/dBm readings in the various models of Motorola Canopy equipment to be somewhat inaccurate and non-linear. If you slip a Stinger™ onto an SM you may or may not see a change of 10 dB in received signal strength. We do guarantee each Stinger™ to increase the gain by a minimum of 10 dB. In practice we see gains of 12 to as high as 14 dB measured by the network analyzer. But SMs often report lower increases. What you will see and can verify is a range increase. We have had 5.7Ghz Stingers™ work out to a distance of 9 miles. However a realistic expectation is solid performance at 5 miles. |
